We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join a construction and contractor organization in California. This contract position with permanent potential supports accurate invoicing by reviewing shipment documentation, confirming work details, and coordinating with drivers to ensure billing records are complete and correct. The role is fully onsite and offers an immediate start, with a Monday through Friday schedule that may begin earlier depending on business needs.

Responsibilities:
• Review delivery and post-shipment paperwork to confirm that billing information is complete, legible, and ready for processing.
• Communicate with drivers to clarify shipment details, resolve missing information, and ensure supporting documents are returned accurately.
• Compare shipment orders against completed delivery records to verify that charges align with the work performed.
• Calculate billable time by tracking yard departure, job site arrival, and total drive time to support accurate customer invoicing.
• Prepare and process invoices for distribution, logistics, rental, or project-related services using established billing procedures.
• Maintain organized billing records and update account information within accounting or billing systems as needed.
• Assist with accounts receivable activities by identifying discrepancies, supporting statement preparation, and helping resolve billing questions.
• Use Excel functions such as sorting and filtering to review data, organize billing details, and improve accuracy in daily processing.• Basic to intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to sort and filter data efficiently.
• Experience with billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable support in a business environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with distribution, logistics, rental, construction, or project-based billing processes is an advantage.
• Ability to review documents carefully, verify hours and service details, and identify inconsistencies before invoicing.
• Comfortable speaking with drivers and internal team members to gather information and resolve documentation issues.
• Experience working with computerized billing platforms, accounting software, or related financial systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple billing tasks in a fully onsite, fast-paced setting.
